Gain Weight Healthily, Food To Avoid



As I mentioned earlier, you should be thinking how to gain weight healthily and not how to gain weight fast. Health over muscle gains, any time of the day.

Not all calories are made equal, so before you start working out, think of the food sources from which to get your calories. In a nutshell, if you want to gain weight healthily, get your calories from whole foods.

Food To Avoid To Gain Weight Healthily:

1. Processed Food and Snacks:

I don’t have to go into details why, but if you really want to know, processed food are “empty calories“. When they are processed or refined, a lot of nutrients and fibers are removed.

Furthermore, refined sugar surge through your bodies very quickly, and this engenders the release of chemicals called free radicals, which are harmful to your body.

Processed foods also contain a lot of chemicals so as to extend its self life.

High fat processed meat are also loaded with saturated fat and trans fat, which can increase your LDL cholesterol level (the bad cholesterol). They are also loaded with sodium, which your body needs but not at such a high level.

2. Fast Food:

Fast food = an excessive lump of sugar, salt, saturated fat and cholesterol. Stay well clear.

3. Gassy Drinks

WAY too much sugars and empty calories. If you are a heavy drinker, gradually reduce your consumption. You will get used to it after a while. And don’t stock up your fridge with anymore of this crap.

4. Ice Cream

Same as number 3, though you can still eat this sometimes. Life would be meaningless if we can’t enjoy some simple pleasures :)

5. White Flour Products

75% of the vitamins and 95% the fiber in white flour products such as white bread are lost! The chemicals used to lengthen its shelf life and make it white will also do nothing for your body. Avoid this. Instead, you could choose bread with fiber.
