Recommended Bodybuilding Supplements

Below is my personal list of recommended bodybuilding supplements.

They are the best muscle building supplements in each section they belong to, and these products are backed up by both scientific studies and real user reviews.

You do not have to get all of them, in fact you can live without supplements!

Their function is to supplement, so when you’re choosing a supplement, choose the one that is most appropriate for you.

For instance, if you are getting enough protein from whole foods, then don’t get whey protein.

However, if you know that you aren’t eating enough fruits, your money would be better spent on getting some vitmain C or multivitamins.

If you need to get some whey protein, then you won’t go wrong with this.

It’s the best protein powder in the market currently, and many others share the same sentiments.

3. Optimum Micronized Creatine Powder

Gym Workout Programs For Men

Creatine is one of the few supplements that really works, or proven to be able to bring about muscle mass gains.

I believe it works very well especially since as an ectomorph, I am looking to gain weight, muscle mass and strength fast.

Yes, some of the weight you gain would be water weight, but creatine provides you with more energy, strength and weight to lift heavier and more and this is how I can bulk up faster.

When do I take the creatine powder? In the direction of that product it says to take 3 scoops per day (one at morning, afternoon, & night). Is this a good idea?

    • http://ectomorphworkout.org Wayne

      Hi Drago,

There are 2 ways you can take creatine.

      1. Consume 3-5g of creatine daily.
      2. The loading and maintenance phase (There isn’t concrete evidence to prove this works, but creatine is cheap, you can try it out)

For the loading phase, you consume 20-25g of creatine daily for a week. Then, you’ll reach the maintenance phase where you consume 3-5g of creatine daily.

And remember, you should cycle your intake of creatine. What this means is stopping consumption of creatine after some time. (You can choose not to as well, depending on your preference)

A good gauge would be stopping for 1 month after 2 months of consuming creatine.

Any other questions, feel free to ask!

I’m 32 , true ectomorph and almost vegetarian (rarely eat meat). is it safe to use Optimum Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein daily without any weight training workouts for first two months and then join the gym for workout.

Actually i want to gain some weight before joining the gym.

    • http://ectomorphworkout.org Wayne

      Hi Bashir,

Optimum Gold Standard 100% whey is a dairy product so to speak, and so it’s definitely safe for consumption.

However, I wouldn’t advise using it just to gain weight without any weight training workouts for the first two months. Why?

      1. Because you will probably consume too much proteins/calories and this will lead to fat gains especially at the abdominal area.

      2. If you aren’t consuming enough calories to gain weight, consuming protein powder as an add on probably won’t help much. What you need is to consume more calories from whole foods.

Protein powder is more effectively used for repairing muscle tissues and the like when you do weight training workouts. Hope this helps, cheers!

is Optimum Gold Standard 100% whey is a mass gainer … is it increase the bodyweight

    • Wayne07

Hi Jobin, it depends on how you phrase it.

To be more precise, its main purpose is to help you build muscles, which in a sense helps you gain weight, but gaining weight is not its main purpose. Can you catch the drift?

    Hi Wayne,

From reading your website I have gained 6 pounds of what appears to be pure muscle in three months and I am ecstatic! I was wondering though, in addition to whey protein and creatine I also take BCAAs. Is that a waste of money or could it actually be benefitting me? Again, Thank you for helping a fellow skinny guy move one step closer to his goal.

I haven’t worked out for several years and now my wife wants me to start again. Before I took the creatine 45 min before my workout and whey right after. You suggested both of them after. Can they both be mixed in the same container of whole milk or should they be mixed in separate drinks?

Hi Wayne. I have only recently joined your inner circle but its a great site thanks. I am using a mass gain supplement before and after workout (Sci-Mx) it has shown some improvement but is it something I should continue full time with or will it produce non muscle bulk? I am 68 and still fit and training.
